Also ich denke Jocelyn, da hast du genau die richtigen Worte getroffen: Du hast irgendwas mit "Beliebtheitsgrad" gesagt (möchte jetzt nicht nochmal nachschauen ^_^). Aber ich finde, Nightwish sind nicht kommerz - und überhaupt frage ich mich da immer "Was können die dafür, dass sie jetzt mehr Erfolg haben"? Klar, diesmal war's Nemo das sie ziemlich hochkatapultiert hat. Aber da können die doch nix dafür. Es wird ja immer behauptet (oder oft), dass Nightwish kommerz sind, weil Tuomas ein Orchester (das London Session Orchester auch noch!) benutzt hat... Bla bla bla... Und ich finde das Schwachsinnig.
@ Pauri: Um ehrlich zu sein: In manchen Fällen bin ich da auch so egoistisch! ^_^

Wobei wir uns dann alle in der Hölle wieder sehen, denn Egoismus ist ganz gewiss kein grund in den Himmel aufzufahrn! Wir, sünder!
Mein gott, heute konnte man schon das neue sleeping sun video auf Viva plus bewundern (Kommerz?)! Hui, edle kreuzritterfummel!
Wie lange spielen eigentlich Nightwish bei einem Konzert?

Tja, Nightwish.......Grauenvoller Gesang!!! Währe aufm Earthshaker fast dabei eingeschlafen, in Wacken hab ich mir das Gejaule erst garnicht angetan..Aber den MTViva-Kids gefällts anscheinend....
Da hör ich doch lieber richtigen unkommerziellen Metal, wie z:B. Moonsorrow, das ist ne geile Band!!!

@Jocelyn: Als ich in Köln letzten Oktober auf einem Konzert von Nightwish war, haben sie glaub ich von ca 21:30 bis 23:45 gepielt..wobei ich mir überhaupt nicht mehr sicher bin, das ist ja schon wieder sooo lang her :'(
Stichwort "Grauenvoller Gesang": Ich finde das ist echt Geschmackssache! ich zB liebe Tarjas Stimme, weil sie so klar ist (wenn ich nach einem Gegenteil suche, muss ich direkt an Yvonne Catterfeld, die Witzfigur *fg*, denken, weil die so ne komisch rauchige Stimme hat, wo man kein Wort versteht lol) und seit ich Nightwish Fan bin, kann ich fast kein Radio mehr hören, weil ich dann immer denke, das hört sich irgendwie "unausgebildet" im Vergleich zu Tarja an. Außerdem gibt es ja bei Nightwish nicht nur den Gesang.. Könnte mir vorstellen, dass die Band ohne Stimme selbst Thunderstorm gefallen würde, oder? :D

Warum wird hier eigentlich behauptet, eine Band würde kommerziell werden, sobald sie ein Orchester beauftragt? Hat Nightwish nicht einfach nur das Orchester gebraucht, damit sich die Lieder besser anhören, oder jedenfalls so anhören, wie Tuomas sich das vorstellte, was ohne Orchester eben nicht ging?

Ja eben das möchte ich ja die ganze Zeit sagen Caillean! Danke, dankesehr für deine weisen Worte... *knutsch*... Genau das wollte ich die ganze Zeit sagen, nur irgendwie schaffe ich das nicht... *ggg*
Ich finde auch, dass Tarja's Stimme und Nightwish überhaupt Geschmackssache ist. Meine Mutter z.B. kann es überhaupt nicht leiden, wenn Frauen singen. Mein Vater dagegen liebt Nightwish total! Er sagt immer, Tarja's Stimme würde ihn beruhigen... ^_^
Um nochmal auf das Kommerz-Orchester Ding zurück zu kommen:
Tuomas macht das ja alles nicht umsonst. Wie schon gesagt, er möchte das so haben, wie es ihm gefällt... und er hofft dabei einfach, dass es den Fans auch gefällt. Er möchte ihnen immerhin etwas bieten.
Und das "neue" Sleeping Sun haben Nightwish ja auch für die Fans gemacht. Weil es so ein "Fan-Favourit" ist... Naja, ok. Und für das Best-of... Aber ich muss echt zugeben, dass sich das Lied wirklich sehr, sehr gut anhört. Sleeping Sun war für mich sowieso schon immer eines meiner Lieblingslieder... *schwärm* - Aber nur eines von vielen! *lol*
Nun denn... sonst hab ich eigentlich nix mehr zu sagen.

Der Hintergrund von sleeping sun, also die ganzn Instrumente, sind jetzt viel tragender und dramatischer. Und man merkt auch, dass sich Tarjas Stimme sehr weitergebildet hat. Tausend mal besser als das Alte.
Danke Caillean, das beruhigt meine von HIM-enttäuschten Nerven, da es bei NW auch nur so kurz war ...

Ehrlich gesagt, gefällt mir das neue Video zu Sleeping Sun gar nicht mal soo gut *wegduck*
Hab's zwar erst einmal gesehn, aber es hat mich nicht so richtig überzeugt. Ich kann auch nicht behaupten, dass mir die neue Version des Liedes an sich viel besser gefällt als die alte, wobei ich das jetzt natürlich auch erst einmal gehört hab. Kann daran liegen, dass mir das alte sooooo mega gut gefällt, dass ich es eine Zeit lang jeden Abend zig mal gehört hab^^
Ach ja, sollte man vielleicht noch dazu schreiben: Im Vergleich zum alten Video ist das neue natürlich Gold wert!! :-)
Jetzt meckert nicht, dass ich hiermit etwas sehr unproduktives geschrieben hab! Euch war ja so langweilig :D

Ich habe am anfang nur ein Bild von ihr gesehen und mir gedacht, wow sieht die gut aus und geguckt was die so macht. Und so habe ich raus gefunden, das sie nicht nur gut aus sieht, sondern auch noch ne bezaubernde Stimme hat. Und habe mir nach und nach alle Alben besorgt und liebe sie alle. Einfach .........

Ähem.. meine Finnische Brieffreundin hat mir gerade geschrieben, dass Nightwish Tarja Turunen gefeuert haben.
*shock* Ich kann natürlich im Moment nicht auf die Nightwish homepage um das zu prüfen, weil die zu überladen ist, oder wie auch immer.. also nehme ich an, dass es stimmt.. und außerdem: WARUM sollte man in dieser Beziehung lügen?? Das ist echt krass.. Sie schreibt, dass Tarja gefeuert wurde, weil sie mehr an's Geld als an ihre Fans oder die Band denkt, und dass sie Nightwish nur besuchen würde. Meine Brieffreundin weiß das so genau, weil es im Internet einen Brief von Tuomas an Tarja gibt, aber natürlich in Finnisch. Gerade versucht meine Freundin einige Teile davon zu übersetzen. Mal sehn, villt kann ich ja welche davon hier rein schreiben.. also falls sie es übersetzen kann.
ALSO, ich melde mich wieder, und ihr meldet euch, wenn das alles hoffentlich doch nur ein ziemlich übler Scherz war!!!

"Dear Tarja,
It`s time to choose whether the story of Nightwish ends here or whether it will still continue an undetermined period of time. We`ve been working with this creation for 9 years and we are not ready to give up yet. Nightwish is a way of life, something to live for, and we`re certain we can`t let it go.
Equally certain is the fact that we cannot go on with you and Marcelo any longer. During the last year something sad happened, which I`ve been going over in my head every single day, morning and night. Your attitude and behavior don`t go with Nightwish anymore. There are characteristics I would never have believed to see in my old dear friend.
People who don`t talk with each other for a year do not belong in the same band.
We are involved in an industry where the business-side of things is a necessary evil and something to worry about all the time. We are also a band which has always done music from the heart, because of friendship and the music itself. The mental satisfaction should always be more important than money! Nightwish is a band, it`s an emotion.
To you, unfortunately, business, money, and things that have nothing to do with those emotions have become much more important. You feel that you have sacrificed yourself and your musical career for Nightwish, rather than thinking what it has given to you.
This attitude was clearly shown to me in the two things you said to me in an airplane in Toronto: ”I don`t need Nightwish anymore.” and ”Remember, Tuomas, that I could leave this band at any time, giving you only one day`s warning in advance”.
I can`t simply write any more songs for you to sing.
You have said yourself that you are merely a ”guest musician” in Nightwish. Now that visit ends and we will continue Nightwish with a new female vocalist.
We`re sure this is an equally big relief to you as it is for us. We have all been feeling bad long enough.
You told us that no matter what, the next Nightwish album will be your last one. However, the rest of us want to continue as long as the fire burns. So there`s no sense in doing that next album with you, either.
The four of us have been going over this situation countless times and we have realized that this is the thing we want to do in life. It´s all we can do. In December 2004, in Germany, you said that you will never tour again for more than two weeks at a time. You also said that we can forget about U.S. and Australia because the fees and the sizes of venues are too small.
In interviews I`ve mentioned that if Tarja leaves, that would be the end of the band. I understand that people will think this way. Nightwish is, however, a scenery of my soul and I`m not ready to let go because of one person. A person who wants to focus her creativity to somewhere else, a person whose values don`t match mine.
We were never bothered by the fact that you didn`t participate in writing/arranging songs, you never in 9 years came to rehearse the songs with us before going to the studio. Not the fact that while on tour you always wanted to fly, separately from us with your husband. Not the fact that you are an undisputable front image of the band.
We accepted and felt ok about everything except greed, underestimating the fans, and breaking promises. It was agreed by the five of us that Nightwish would be the priority in everything that we do during 2004-2005. Still so many things were more important to you. The ultimate example being the already sold-out show in Oslo, which you wanted to cancel because you needed to rehearse for your solo concerts, meet frieds and go to the movies. Those were the words Marcelo used in an e-mail explaining the cancellation. This being just one example of so many. I couldn`t think of a worse way of being selfish and dismissing our fans.
Nightwish is a way of life and a job with many obligations. To each other and to the fans. With you we can`t take care of those duties anymore.
Deep within we don`t know which one of you drove us to this point. Somehow Marcelo has changed you from the lovely girl you were into a diva, who doesn`t think or act the way she used to. You are too sure of your irreplaceableness and status.
It`s obvious that you blame your stress and misery on us four. And you think we don`t respect or listen to you. Belive us; We have always had the uppermost respect towards you as a wonderful vocalist and as a friend. And very often during the past couple of years the plans were made according to your decisions only. You were always the only one who wanted more money from the shows.
This ”compensation and more money from everything” –attitude is the fact that we are most disappointed of!
We wish that from now on you will listen to your heart instead of Marcelo. Cultural differences combined with greed, opportunism and love is a dangerous combination. Do not wither yourself.
This decision is not something we are especially proud of but you gave us no choice. The gap between us is too wide. And the decision is made by us four unanimously. We are beyond the point where things could be settled by talking.

und wer is eigentlich marcelo? ich kenn mich leider nich so sehr bei nightwish aus...
aber ma ehrlich, man kann doch tarja nich ersetzen... denkt der echt, dass die weiterhin erfolg ham werden? die meisten mochten doch nigthwish nur wegen tarjas stimme... aber kanns verstehen, so eine würd ich auch nich in der band ham wollen...
