one of the many strange announcements that tim smith, singer and head of british underground rock legend cardiacs, exhales during livegigs... there would be so much to say about this band, especially as they look back on a 26 years history and still burn a fire that make the average punk/rock outfit look/sound like "pischi", if you know what i mean. cardiacs pretty much sound like zappa, the early genesis and kurt weill arranged for a massive happening in a circus-arena, to play some real breathtaking ska-punk... no way to explain the unexplainable! i followed them on their `92 heaven born and ever bright tour in the UK, and believe me folks - the grateful dead are the only band that used to receive such a faithful and passionate devotion by their fans, compared to a cardiacs gig the most ecstatic goa or techno party appears to be mere placebo! the greatest undergroundrock band in living history!!!
